After the success of his Marvel movies, James Gunn has been given a chance to take on the DC universe. The movie is praised for its mind-blowing special effects and empathetic characters.
The Suicide Squad is out in cinemas and available to watch on HBO Max, and fans are praising James Gunn’s DC film as “mind-blowing.” Gunn’s Squad is a standalone sequel to filmmaker David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, and it assembles another motley band of disposable supervillains whose heads (and brains) will be blasted off by A.R.G.U.S. Director Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) if they step out of line. Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Peacemaker (John Cena), Polka-Dot Man (David Dastmalchian), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), King Shark (voice of Sylvester Stallone), and their handler Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) are all back in action with Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), and they’re all dying to save the world.
The Suicide Squad’s response from moviegoers and reviewers alike “feels more like a relief,” Gunn told The Hollywood Reporter ahead of Thursday’s release. The Suicide Squad was officially certified fresh at 95 percent, giving Gunn his best score of his career. “But, honestly, I’m most pleased with how proud I am of the film. The film is one of my favorites. Making it was a lot of fun for me.”
“I liked the people around me,” Gunn said, “and it’s just a different way for me to look at my job than I’m accustomed to.” “I’m just so pleased of the process and the picture itself, and it’s a huge difference for me to be concentrating on that rather than on what’s going on outside. As a result, I’m very pleased.”
Fans are ecstatic, too, and are flocking to social media to express their excitement for The Suicide Squad when it reaches cinemas and HBO Max: Fury Road when it premieres.
A Head-Exploding, Mind-Blowing Experience
@JamesGunn deserves a standing ovation. “The Suicide Squad” is a mind-blowing film! For certain members of Task Force X, both figuratively and physically. When he stated “no one is safe,” he wasn’t kidding. #TheSuicideSquad

I’m glad I saw #TheSuicideSquad in the cinemas. IT’S AMAZING. The characters are all fantastic. Ratcatcher 2 by @MelchiorDaniela is without a doubt my fave. I’m looking forward to seeing @JohnCena in Peacemaker. The Harley Quinn chase sequence is incredible.
Thank you for your kind words, @JamesGunn, and happy birthday!

A Beneficial (Blood) Sport
#TheSuicideSquad was mind-blowing, to say the least.
One of DC’s finest, a terrific action blockbuster that is both elegant and entertaining. I’m pleased with how well this turned out.
Every role was great, but Idris Elba was the highlight for me in this film, which I really enjoyed. pic.twitter.com/TDu4LPy3sc

Take a bite out of The Suicide Squad.
#TheSuicideSquad is the most enjoyable DC film I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t stop grinning since this film is so ridiculous and over-the-top hilarious. It also has a lot of heart. Although King Shark is a highlight, Harley Quinn steals the show. I’m looking forward to seeing this again and again. pic.twitter.com/uMRVxlmLtC

I would have laughed at you if you had told me when I was younger that I would one day weep while watching #TheSuicideSquad battle Starro on television. Thank you, @JamesGunn, for providing us with the funny, violent, and emotional DC adaptation that fans have been waiting for for a long time. twitter.com/0EgLNUyfap
