The series has proved to be very successful on PC, but some gamers who have been patiently awaiting the Nintendo Switch version may already have friends who are enjoying it. Cross-platform support for Monster Hunter Rise would allow them to overcome the barriers erected by platforms and aid one another in combating the game’s deadly beasts.
Furthermore, Monster Hunter Rise crossplay would prolong the game’s lifespan on both platforms, even though it is unlikely to fade out at the present, especially with the Sunbreak expansion coming next year.
Unfortunately, despite a poll sent out around the time of the PC version’s launch indicating that Capcom may be considering it, Monster Hunter Rise will not have cross-platform compatibility.
“We’ve heard your demands for Cross-Save / Cross-Play for #MHRise & #Sunbreak,” the publisher said in a tweet. “Unfortunately, after looking into it throughout the development process, we discovered we are unable to integrate it at this time.”
