On April 23, Reggie Miller’s son Cameron turned one year old. As is tradition for the Miller family, the player had a birthday party for his son. Cameron turned out to be a pretty witty little boy, who naturally wanted to say “Happy Birthday” to his dad. Strangely enough, Cameron’s wish to say “Happy Birthday” to his dad was one he never got to say in person.
In a series of tweets, Reggie Miller—one of the greatest shooters the NBA has ever seen—revealed an incredible story about how his son wished him to re-live a moment from his past.
On Thursday, February 15th, the great Reggie Miller celebrated his 54th birthday in a traditional manner: by having dinner with his family and friends at a local restaurant. However, on that day, he also had a very special surprise present.
Reggie Miller’s eight-year-old kid requested provocative images on his birthday cake, despite the fact that he is only eight years old.
The Indiana Pacers great and NBA Hall of Famer posted photos from his son Ryker’s eighth birthday party, including a photo of himself creating the famed “choke” sign on the cake. Spike Lee, put your hands over your eyes.
One of the most iconic pictures in NBA history is Reggie Miller making the “choke” gesture towards Knicks fan Spike Lee.
In the mid-1990s, the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks enjoyed one of the greatest rivalries in the NBA, with Reggie Miller at the heart of it all.
Miller is one of the league’s most well-known trash talkers. When he played for the Knicks, he was particularly outspoken, yelling at John Starks and, on one memorable occasion, film director and Knicks superfan Spike Lee.
In the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals, the Pacers and Knicks were knotted at two games each, with Game 5 scheduled to take place on New York’s court. Miller made it his own playground at Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks were up 12 points going into the fourth quarter, but Miller warned Lee that his team was about to lose that advantage. During a timeout, he put up four fingers and flashed the choke sign to Lee, implying that the Pacers will eventually claw their way back. Thanks to Miller, Indiana was able to do this.
Reggie scored 25 of his 39 points in the fourth quarter, smirking at Lee after almost every three-pointer and nearly single-handedly carrying the Pacers to victory. Indiana would lose the next two games and the series, but Miller’s heroics in Game 5 and exchanges with Spike provided some of the greatest basketball drama ever seen.
Ryker was not the first to experience the “choke.” Miller’s son, on the other hand, wanted to remember the incident at his birthday festivities.
Ryker Miller surprised his father with a one-of-a-kind birthday cake.
When it comes to birthday instructions, Ryker Miller may well take the cake.
Reggie’s eldest son had a special surprise planned for his eighth birthday on Sunday. Ryker requested that his cake be fashioned like a shoebox, with the shoe on top depicting his father giving Spike Lee the “choke” sign.
This has to be one of the greatest tributes ever, and it’s perfect for Reggie Miller’s kid. It’s understandable that the trash-talking legend’s son would want to commemorate another year by referencing one of his father’s most memorable and iconic moments.
Furthermore, Miller’s 8-year-old kid inadvertently shading Knicks fans is amusing, even though the intentions were most likely benign.

Miller, on the other hand, obviously enjoyed the opportunity to show off his son’s birthday cake, complete with the infamous “choke” picture emblazoned across it, particularly at the expense of Lee and Knicks fans worldwide.
