After the surprise decision to declare the former Florida quarterback as the new Alabama quarterback, we should quickly come to terms with the fact that this is a huge jump for the kid. He’ll be starting his first season as a full-time starter and will face one of the toughest and most experienced defenses in the country. All the more reason to temper expectations: he’s a work in progress, and we need to remember that Hurts has a long way to go before he’s at the level of an elite quarterback.

Here is all you need to know about Jalen Hurts in Year 2 of his collegiate playing career. Jalen Hurts is a 6’5” 240 pound QB for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Hurts was the #3 QB taken in the 2018 NFL draft. He is a natural born competitor and a very intense individual. As a QB, Hurts has great size and a great arm. He excels at applying pressure in the pocket, and he can deliver a big hit when he does. Jalen Hurts is a guy who will never give up, and despite being a backup for a year, he could be a force in the SEC Championship in 2019.

In 2015, Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts entered the season as the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide. Hurts redshirt freshman season was a bit of a learning process as he struggled to adjust to the college game. However, as the season wore on, Hurts began to mature, sharpen his skills, and became a more confident player. As a result, during the 2016 season, Hurts was able to take the offense to the next level, providing the Alabama offense with a legitimate threat at the quarterback position.

In little over two weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles will kick up their 2021 season. With a new coaching staff and an untested quarterback at the helm, few analysts or fans believe the Eagles have a chance to win the NFC East this season. If they want to make any noise in the division, they’ll need a superhuman performance from Jalen Hurts, but it’ll be fascinating to watch how their young players grow in what seems to be a rebuilding year.

So, let’s take a look at Philly’s schedule and see where they’ll be in January.

Schedule for the Philadelphia Eagles

12th of September vs. Atlanta Falcons

against. San Francisco 49ers, Sept. 19

Dallas Cowboys, Sept. 27

against. Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 3

Panthers against. Panthers, Oct. 10

Versus. Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 14

The Raiders visit the Raiders on October 24.

31st of October against. Lions of Detroit

against. Los Angeles Chargers, Nov. 7

Denver Broncos, Nov. 14

New Orleans Saints, Nov. 21

The New York Giants visit on November 28.

The New York Jets visit on December 5th.

vs. Washington Football Team, Dec. 19

against. New York Giants, Dec. 26

Washington Football Team on Jan. 2

against. Dallas Cowboys, Jan. 9

In 2021, the Eagles are expected to set a new record.

Week 1 at the Falcons: Victory

With most of Philadelphia’s players missing the preseason, the season opener may be a worry, but the Falcons aren’t a very outstanding club in 2021. Behind a healthy offensive line, Hurts should have his way with this defense.

Week 2 vs the 49ers: Loss

In this one, the 49ers should be able to keep the Eagles in check in the trenches and turn Hurts over a few times. Week 2 brings an end to a great start.

Loss in Week 3 vs the Cowboys

The Eagles’ defense is helpless against a healthy Dak Prescott and the Cowboys’ attack. Dallas may put up a big score at Jerry World and win the division early.

Week 4: Loss to the Chiefs

This one doesn’t need any analysis. In Week 4, just start Patrick Mahomes in all of your daily fantasy football teams.

Week 5 against. Panthers: Victory

After three consecutive defeats, the Eagles go to Carolina with the hopes of shutting down Sam Darnold and the rest of the offense. If Philadelphia can keep Christian McCaffrey under control even a little bit, they should be able to win at home.

against. Buccaneers in Week 6: Loss

The Eagles’ roster is much too skilled and balanced to keep up with Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers defeat the Eagles for the third time in three attempts at home.

Week 7 against. Raiders: Victory

With a victory against the Raiders on the road, the Eagles got back on track. Darren Waller should have a huge day, but Philly can steal this one if the defense can prevent big plays and turn Derek Carr over once or twice.

Week 8 at the Lions: Victory

This is one of the rare games in 2021 that the Eagles are expected to win. They can’t afford to make a mistake.

Week 9 against. Chargers: Chargers win

At some point, they have to win a game at home, right? Hurts wins the biggest game of his short career in a shootout against Justin Herbert.

Loss in Week 10 vs the Broncos

Hurts will be unable to overcome the altitude in his debut start in Denver. If the Eagles’ offensive line is as banged up as it usually is at this time in the season, Von Miller will be a problem.

Week 11 vs the Saints: Loss

This season, the Saints will be a force in the trenches. If Philadelphia wants to compete in this game, both sides of the line must be completely healthy.

Loss in Week 12 against the Giants

In previous years, the Eagles have dominated the Giants, but a healthy Saquon Barkley can win this game on his own. New York will get a much-needed NFC East win if Daniel Jones keeps the ball in Week 12.

Week 13 at the Jets: Victory

In Week 13, the Eagles go over the river for their second consecutive New Jersey game, and this time they win.

BYE, BYE, BYE, BYE, BYE

Week 15: Loss to Washington

After a bye, the Eagles face Washington for the first time, but we have no idea how this new coaching staff will do in its first game. No bye week, in any case, can adequately prepare a guy like Chase Young.

Week 16 vs. the Giants: Victory

In Week 16, the Eagles avenge their cross-state foe. Hurts steps up and plays his cleanest game of the season with the NFC East championship still on the line.

Week 17: Loss in Washington

In 2021, Washington just has Philadelphia’s number. Ryan Fitzpatrick won’t be scared to throw it downfield against this secondary, and that’s where the Eagles will fall short.

Week 18 vs the Cowboys:

We don’t know whether the Eagles will still be in contention for the NFC East title by Week 18, but they have a habit of sabotaging the Cowboys’ season-ending hopes.

Prediction for the year 2021: 8-9.

This season, Philadelphia has a victory total of 6.5.

In 2021, Hurts will surprise a few people. He may not have the firepower to lead the Eagles to the playoffs this season, but they may easily be in the fight for the NFC East by the end. Philly would be far over their 6.5-win total with an 8-9 record.

The Eagles are +100,000 to win the Super Bowl and +500 to win the NFC East.

What is the Eagles’ best bet for 2021?

In a perfect world, Jalen Hurts would be the starting quarterback for the University of Alabama football team. In a dream world, he would be the first pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. In the least realistic world, he would be the first pick of the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The reality is that he is a sophomore quarterback on a top-five SEC team, and the pressure of playing the role of starting quarterback at Alabama is going to be on his shoulders sooner rather than later..
