The 2019 NFL season will be the first time in history that a team will not have to play on its home field. This is due to the league’s new policy of scheduling teams to host games every other week, with the exception of the Super Bowl and playoffs.
The the ballad of ricky bobby is a song written by Paul L. Smith and performed by Will Ferrell in the 2007 film Talladega Nights. It is about the fictional NASCAR driver Ricky Bobby, who drives with reckless abandon and has his heart set on winning the big race at Talladega Superspeedway.
Urban Meyer, the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, wants quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence and Gardner Minshew to do more “shake and bake.” At the very least, anything along those lines.
Meyer is in his first season as the Jaguars’ head coach and in the NFL. He hasn’t decided whether Lawrence, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, or Minshew, the No. 2 overall pick, will start the season at quarterback. Meyer, on the other hand, wants to see his offense get into gear and change speeds with ease.
Garnder Minshew and Trevor Lawrence are vying for the starting quarterback position.
When the regular season arrived, it was widely assumed that Trevor Lawrence would be Jacksonville’s starting quarterback. Meyer, on the other hand, isn’t promising anything.
Lawrence and Gardner Minshew, who started camp as the incumbent starting quarterback, are in a “open battle,” according to the former Florida and Ohio State head coach. Lawrence was carefully scrutinized by Meyer and his coaching staff, and he most certainly understands that he represents the franchise’s future, but there is still a lot of respect for Minshew.
“I admire him because he has earned it. According to Around The NFL, Meyer remarked of Minshew, “I adore that guy.” “He’s a contender and a fighter. He’s a savage combatant. That’s what I told him. Minshew has gained a lot of respect from me recently. Every day, every day, he brings it.”
During the team’s first preseason game against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, both Lawrence and Minshew had the opportunity to make a statement. Neither was very impressive.
Lawrence was the most productive of the two. He completed six of nine ball attempts for 71 yards but failed to reach the end zone. Minshew threw an interception and completed just half of his eight passes for 47 yards.
It’s just a single preseason game. Meyer, on the other hand, said that he wants to search for explosive plays and move the ball.
Urban Meyer recognizes the importance of speed.
At halftime of Saturday’s game, the Jaguars had just 85 yards of total offense. Meyer was irritated, even if it was just a preseason game.
“I’m not a fan of sluggish offenses….” Meyer told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, “I don’t want to be one of those sluggish, wallowing offenses.” “And we’ll take care of it….” All we have to do now is grab it and go, go, go.”
Meyer did not blame any of his quarterbacks for the slow tempo of play, but coach did suggest Lawrence was holding the ball too long on at least one occasion.
Meyer told Florio, “I sort of thought he did [hold the ball too long] on one of them.” “I think he held the ball for a little while, and we need to figure out why.”
Meyer and his coaching staff will have to wait and see how they try to correct the pace. Maybe he’ll try to foster a no-huddle attitude. It’ll also be fascinating to observe whether these remarks imply a stronger desire to throw the ball this season.
The Jaguars are in the midst of a new era.

In Week 1, Trevor Lawrence seems to be the most probable starter. Even if Gardner Minshew is chosen, Meyer’s presence on the field signals the start of a new era for the Jaguars.
Since 2008, Jacksonville has only reached the playoffs once. The Jaguars’ new head coach is eager to lead the club to greater success, and it’s conceivable that speeding things up may be the key to that success.
Urban Meyer had a lot of success as a head coach, first at Florida and later at Ohio State. Is he capable of doing the same with the Jaguars? There is a significant amount of work to be done.
